Request Approval for Apparel or Merchandise

The college has established design guidelines for apparel and merchandise intended for use in an official capacity or for internal purposes and school spirit.

Ordering Guidelines

Vendors

Items produced for resale, including fundraisers, must use a TCNJ-licensed vendor to produce materials to be sold. For giveaways, campus units are encouraged to use licensed vendors.

Ready to Order items are also available through our licensed vendors as an alternative to producing custom apparel and promo items.

Approval

Items produced through one of the college’s licensed vendors do not need prior approval. Items produced through any other vendors must be reviewed prior to the order being completed by the appropriate contact listed below.

Apparel and Merchandise for Resale

Faculty & Staff, Alumni, and Outside Entities

These guidelines apply to official units of the college (including offices, departments, divisions, programs, and centers), alumni and alumni groups, and entities outside of the college.

In Person

In person, on-campus sales are permitted only at sanctioned college events or at vendor tables in the Brower Student Center.

Events

  1. Obtain permission from appropriate college department, office, or event coordinator and fulfill any business, insurance, or other requirements they set forth.
  2. Use a TCNJ-licensed vendor to produce materials that will be sold.
  3. Adhere to brand guidelines on brand.tcnj.edu

Vendor Tables in the Brower Student Center

  1. Obtain permission from Conference and Event Services by emailing Melissa Gaynor, sales manager for external events, at gaynorm@tcnj.edu
  2. Use a TCNJ-licensed vendor to produce materials that will be sold.
  3. Adhere to brand guidelines at brand.tcnj.edu

Online (websites, Apps, Marketplaces)

  1. Obtain permission from the Office of Communications, Marketing, and Brand Management by emailing Cindy Peacock, director of administrative operations, at cindy.peacock@tcnj.edu
  2. Use a TCNJ-licensed vendor to produce materials that will be sold.
  3. Adhere to brand guidelines on brand.tcnj.edu

Students

These guidelines apply to TCNJ students, whether individuals or members of Recognized Student Organization (RSO).

Students or Recognized Student Organizations (RSO) producing apparel and merchandise bearing the college name, acronym, logos or other brand marks for resale (including fundraisers) must adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Obtain permission
    1. Recognized Student Organizations should follow procedures as outlined in the Student Life Fundraising Policy
    2. Students not associated with an RSO should obtain permission from the Office of Communications, Marketing, and Brand Management by emailing Cindy Peacock, director of administrative operations, at cindy.peacock@tcnj.edu
  2. Use a TCNJ-licensed vendor to produce materials that will be sold.
  3. Adhere to brand guidelines on brand.tcnj.edu

The college reserves the right to refuse permission for apparel and merchandise sales at its sole discretion if it is determined that such a shop will be in direct conflict to college operations or interests. Items for resale, including merchandise sold for fundraisers, may be subject to royalties.
